Ruud Stoop was born in 1961 in Breda (Holland) and lived in Córdoba (Spain) between 1981 and 1985. He studied for his solo repertoire at the Conservatorio Superiór with Manuel Cano and he learned to accompany singers and dancers at the Academia de Merengue de Córdoba y Concha Calero. During this period he met Vicente Amigo (14 years old) and they became very good friends. In 1985 he returned to Holland and studied for 6 years with Paco Peña at the Rotterdams Conservatorium. He received the world's first official Flamenco teachers degree in 1991. After this Ruud has developed a brand new learning system to understand and improve Flamenco guitar playing techniques. He wrote a book about it and is now working on the video images to complete the system. It will be available as soon as possible in a Dutch, English and Spanish version. More to come...
